In 1957, CBS aired the first Perry Mason TV episode. The series lasted for 9 seasons, starring Raymond Burr as Perry Mason.
In the 1970's, a new television series was produced, The New Adventures of Perry Mason. None of the original actors who starred in the first series were cast in this new series. It did not live up to the standards of the first series, and did not last long.
